The Kickstarter for The Shamanist: Warden of the Veil has officially launched, and on day one, I’m excited to have already reached over half my funding goal! Let’s take a moment to breathe a bit.

The Shamanist is an entirely new character class for D&D 5e/5.5 and Level Up Advanced Fifth Edition. Inspired by the K-Pop Demon Hunters movie, and the DanDaDan animated series/manga, the class draws on elements from Korean and Japanese cultures and their shamanist and spiritualist traditions.

A true gish by design, the class is built on a half-caster/half-martial chassis. The Shamanist release includes 4 distinct subclasses, and introduces a new combat tradition.

The Kickstarter also includes Ere the Baelcat Stalketh, a suspense-and-dread adventure module, which adds a new follower type, several magical and non-magical items, 5 pregenerated characters, and 2 new monsters including the titular baelcat.

I recently had a chance to discuss the class, the Kickstarter, and other designer thoughts with a great group of people.
